Kathak

A little note about my most favorite hobby in the world, DANCE. The only type of dance that I have ever learnt or liked is Kathak, a classical North Indian dance. I find it very exciting and graceful. It's something I enjoy doing and I think that it's a great way of expression. I have been dancing since I was about 3 years old. I have always loved it and still do.

Whenever I feel like doing something or I am just sitting around, I just start dancing, because for me there is no better way to cheer up.  It's something that keeps me active. Once I started dancing on general songs, I wanted to master a certain dance form. I started learning from the centralized board of Kathak in India which has the main branch in Bombay. It was fun even though we had to give written and practical exams at the end of each year.

Unfortunately I was only able to do 3 years out of the total course since after my third year I moved to Delhi, where I just didn't get a chance to continue. Although, I am very thankful for all the knowledge I gained from the written and practical training of this course. I still wish I could continue to learn but especially after coming here my chances are even remote. I still dance though, by giving stage performances in many Indian festivals. If someone asks me my most favorite hobbies in this world, they will be dance and music. Kathak is a very graceful and a very complex dance, and I had a lot of fun learning it. The good thing is that I can still dance on classical songs and choreograph steps with the help of some kathak base. Just as a little tribute, I am very grateful to Tina tai, since she is the one who taught me this. I know she can't read this, but hey, it's the thought that counts, right?

Anyway, if you will like to see some photographs of my past dances just click on the photo below.

Also, Here are my 3 year Certificates although I don't think they are really something interesting, just felt like including them.
